Welcome Ladies and Girls!
Master Your Self-Esteem is a website that focuses on helping girls and women improve their emotional health through tools, resources, and advice and suggestions from psychologist Lee Davis. In addition to the many articles that deal with issues around emotional well-being, Lee provides specific methods for learning, not only how to build your self-esteem, but how to master your self-esteem.
Having healthy self-esteem means YOU predict success in your life. Believing in yourself and that you can accomplish or succeed at everything you put your mind to helps to build confidence. Instead of a victim of circumstance, you choose the direction in which you want to go. Even if you fail, when you have good self-esteem, you get up, dust off yourself, and try again.
However, not everyone has good self-esteem. Here, you will not only learn how to build and master your self-esteem, you will learn what is keeping you from having the level of self-esteem you want and deserve. You will have the opportunity to learn how to undo the damage that caused you to have low self-esteem in the first place. (See FREE Classes)
Unlike many other professionals in this field, Lee encouarges looking into the past to see why you're not at the level of self-esteem you so desire. It's important to remember that every minute of every day in your past is what got you here today. It is only in looking backward, dealing with unresolved issues, that you can move forward to a better you.
For instance, if you are continuously choosing the wrong type of relationship partners, even girl friends, like a magnet, some faulty belief is pulling you in that direction. It is important you know what those beliefs are, to what extent they are affecting you today, and how to change the power they have over you.
Many psychologists tell their clients that all you need to do to change your beliefs is to repeat a dozen or so affirmations each day. That's like saying that if you have cancer, just tell yourself every day that you're a good person who doesn't deserve cancer, or some other positive phrase, and it will all go away.
Why do I use cancer as an example? Because having a belief system that continousely takes you down the wrong and causes you pain and suffering is a cancerous belief system. Like cancer, these beliefs grow and the destruction they cause gets worse. And just like physical cancer, you need to find the root of these cancerous beliefs, heal and move on to.
I know this because I had devastatingly low self-esteem throughout my childhood and early adult years. And cancer. Twice.
